1. Who we are
Code Samurai (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates codesamurai.ai, a platform that hosts AI tools such as the Code Samurai Chatbot. Questions about this policy: use our contact form or the contact methods listed on www.codesamurai.com.
2. What this platform does
codesamurai.ai provides hosted AI services used by customer websites (typically via a WordPress plugin and an embed loaded from codesamurai.ai). Product sales, demos, and company marketing primarily live on www.codesamurai.com.
3. Information we process
Depending on how a tool is used, we may process:
- Chat messages — visitor prompts and AI replies generated while using the hosted chat.
- Knowledge content — text from web pages a customer chooses to index so the chatbot can answer from that content.
- Technical / usage data — aggregate usage metrics, quality signals (such as thumbs up/down or unanswered questions), configuration settings, and security-related telemetry.
- Bot-protection signals — Cloudflare Turnstile runs inside the codesamurai.ai chat experience to reduce automated abuse.
- Site operator data — account and configuration information needed to provision and operate a customer’s tools.
4. What we do not store on codesamurai.ai
Lead capture and personal contact details collected through the customer chatbot experience (such as name, email, or phone submitted in a lead form) are designed to remain on the customer’s WordPress site. They are not sent to codesamurai.ai for storage as leads.
Customers are responsible for how they handle leads and other personal data on their own websites, including their own privacy notices.
5. AI processing
Chat messages may be sent to an AI provider (currently configured for xAI / Grok in our product stack) to generate replies. Do not submit sensitive personal, financial, health, or confidential information into chat. Chat is for general website information only — not professional advice tailored to your situation.
Visitors are shown a consent notice before the chat tool loads. Consent preferences may be stored in the browser (for example via localStorage) so the notice is not shown on every visit for a limited period.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
The platform and embeds may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies for consent state, security (including Turnstile), session continuity, and site operation. Hosting and security providers (such as WP Engine or Cloudflare) may also set cookies required for delivery and protection of the site.
7. How we use information
- To operate, secure, and improve hosted AI tools
- To generate chatbot replies and maintain knowledge indexes customers configure
- To measure usage, quality, and plan limits for operators
- To prevent abuse, spam, and unauthorized access
- To communicate with customers about the service
8. Sharing
We use service providers that help us run the platform (for example hosting, security, and AI inference providers). We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.
9. Retention
We retain operational, configuration, and usage-related data for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Customers control lead records stored on their own WordPress sites.
10. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the platform, including encryption of certain secrets at rest and industry-standard hosting practices. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
11. Children’s privacy
The platform is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
12. Customer sites and “Learn more” links
Customer chatbots may link to this policy by default, or to a privacy URL the customer configures. If you are a visitor on a customer website, that site’s own privacy policy also applies to data collected there.
13. Your choices and requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. Contact us using the link above and we will respond as required by applicable law. You can also decline chat consent and continue browsing without using the chat tool.
14. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy where permitted by law.
